4. Become physically active

Yes, sedentary lifestyle can also push you to having cancer in the long run. Remember, being physically active doesn’t always entail losing weight; it rather improves functioning of your vital organs like brain, lungs, heart, kidneys and liver. If your system is in right balance then certainly risk of this fatal disease is curtailed. 


5. Eat vegetables rich in fibers, antioxidants and vitamins

The more you consume colored vegetables cooked in a healthy way, the better your cells are immune to cancer. Spinach, broccoli, bitter gourd, carrot, beet root, bell pepper, zucchini, kale, etc. are best known for their antioxidant properties – remove toxins and free radicals from your body. Furthermore, fibers protect you from inflammation of colon.


6. Have one fruit or a glass of fresh fruit juice daily

Fruits are loaded with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants and make it a point to have one serving daily. Choose from berries, papaya, apples, oranges, grapefruits, Indian gooseberries or anything that you love to eat if you want to protect your cells from getting damaged by toxins and free radicals.


7. Add herbs and spices in your cuisine

No matter what you eat – soups, salads or casseroles, make it a point to add at least one (or more) herb and spices in them. It could be a hint of cinnamon, ginger, turmeric, garlic or rosemary, oregano, celery, thyme, coriander, etc. All these ingredients are natural anti-carcinogens.


8. Cut back on unhealthy foods

This is must… You need to reduce consumption of unhealthy fats, carbohydrates, sugars and caffeine. Red meat, fast foods, fizzy drinks and caffeinated beverages are never healthy. They lower you immunity, add on to your weight and make you vulnerable to a wide range of cancers.


9. Consume alcohol in moderation

Folks you need to watch out for the pegs you are gulping down every day. Simply put, control your alcohol consumption to preserve your liver from becoming cancerous. One healthy habit is to have a peg of red wine daily because it contains antioxidants.


10. Get yourself  screened

Most people pass out from cancer because they do not get tested early and the disease spreads to a stage where recovery is next to impossible.
