Sunlight helps cure jaundice in newborns

Feb 21, 2013
Sunshine for infants, if jaundice strikes: When an infant is born with high bilirubin levels (infantile jaundice) and phototherapy at hospitals is not advised, parents can provide it at the comfort of their homes. Put the baby in indirect sunlight, preferable in early morning or late afternoon hours. It is best to keep the baby in a brightly sun lit room without his clothes for approximately 30 minutes. Be aware to keep a check on any aggravating symptoms.
