Smoking aggravates bronchitis

Dec 30, 2011
Cigarette smoking worsens bronchitis, a condition of inflammation in air passage. The tobacco and other toxic substances used in cigarette irritate the air passage further, aggravating the condition. This irritation causes an over production of mucous that promotes blockage in the bronchial tubes. Bronchitis can become chronic in smokers if they do not quit smoking.
