Safe distance for eyes from monitor

Nov 06, 2011
Maintaining an appropriate distance between the computer screen and yourself is vital as monitors placed too close or far can make you sit in an awkward or uncomfortable body posture, leading to exertion, neck and back pain, eyestrain, and glare. The ideal viewing distance is between 20 inches (50 and 100 cm) from the eye to the front of the computer screen. In simpler terms, keep it away around an arm’s length. Sit comfortably with your back supported by a chair.
