Calcium plays a major role in maintaining healthy bones and teeth. Calcium helps in the normal functioning of heart and muscle. It also helps in the clotting of blood. Dairy products like fish, milk, yogurt, and cheese are good sources of calcium. Other rich sources of calcium are broccoli, soya, tofu, and almonds. Vitamin D is neededfor the efficient utilization and absorption of calcium. In cases of calcium deficiency it is better to take the milk fortified with vitamin D.
