Fat and cholesterol are essential for the body

Both fat and cholesterol are essential for the normal functioning of the body. According to National Heart Lung and Blood Institute, body makes enough cholesterol and does not require dietary cholesterol. However, our body requires dietary fat. There are four types fat in our food, namely, Saturated fat, Trans fat, Monounsaturated fat and Poly unsaturated fat. Unsaturated fats are healthy and are mainly found in plant source foods. Sources of unsaturated fat are nuts, olive oil, flax seeds, sun flower oil, and Soya bean oil.
