Excess fat around waist cause heart risk
Nov 20, 2011
Jelly-belly is bad for heart: Tendency to deposit fat around the waist increases the risk for heart diseases more than it being tucked away in any other part of the body. Abdominal fat (visceral fat) is considered more threatening as it increases inflammation, worsens hardening of arteries, and raises triglycerides levels in our body making heart attacks more likely. People with belly fat usually tend to have higher blood insulin and sugar levels, which is again not so heart-friendly.
