Uses: Penicitin 250 mg capsule is used in the treatment of Wilson's disease, cystinuria and patients with rheumatoid arthritis unresponsive to conventional therapy.
How to use:
Side Effects: Stomach ache/abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, loss of appetite, diarrhea, and decreased sense of taste
Dosage: Usual adult dose for Rheumatoid arthritis: Initial dose 125 to 250mg daily for 4 weeks. Maintenance dose is 500 to 750 mg daily in divided dosages. Usual adult dose for Wilson's disease: 1500 to 2000 mg daily in divided doses. It is most effective if used in conjunction with a low-copper diet. Usual adult dose for Cystinuria: For the treatment of cystinuria or cystine stones, 1000 to 3000 mg daily in divided doses. For prevention of cystinuria or cystine stones, 500 mg to 1000 mg daily. Fluid intake should not be less than 3 litres per day.
