Uses: Hocid 20 mg capsule is used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), Dyspepsia, Erosive Esophagitis, Duodenal Ulcer, Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome . It is used to relieve the symptoms of heartburn. Along with antibiotics it is used to treat the infection caused by h.pylori. It works by reducing the acid produced in the stomach.
How to use: Take Hocid 20 mg capsule orally usually once daily 1 hour before a meal. Swallow this medicine as a whole with glass of water. In severe conditions it can be taken twice. Do not stop taking omeprazole with out consulting a doctor.
Side Effects: Fever, gas, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, headache.
Dosage: Usual Adult Dose for Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome is 60 mg orally once a day. Usual Adult Dose for Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease, Dyspepsia, Erosive Esophagitis, Duodenal Ulcer is 20 mg orally once a day. Usual Adult Dose for Helicobacter pylori Infection is 40 mg along with antibiotics.
