How to use nizatidine

Take nizatidine by mouth with meals. To prevent heartburn it is usually taken 30 min before meals.
If you are using the antacids to get relief from acidity symptoms use nizatidine one hour before or after taking the antacids.
Older people: Nizatidine is mainly eliminated by kidneys. Because older people have decreased renal function, nizatidine should be cautiously used in older people.
Pregnant women: nizatidine belongs to FDA pregnancy category C. This means that nizatidine may harm an unborn baby if used during pregnancy but potential benefit may warrant use of the drug in pregnant woman despite potential risks. Always inform your doctor if you are pregnant or are planning for conception.
Lactating women: It is not known whether nizatidine passes into breast milk or if it could harm the baby. Do not take nizatidine with out first talking to doctor if you are breast feeding a baby.
Other: Do not drink alcohol and smoke tobacco while taking the nizatidine

How do I store nizatidine
Store nizatidine at room temp (15 – 30 degrees C). Avoid excessive heat, moisture or direct sunlight, never store in the bathroom.
Keep it out of reach of children. Make sure that any leftover portion is disposed off safely.
Avoid using or consuming substances that may irritate your stomach, such as:
- alcohol and alcohol-containing products;
- coffee, tea and chocolate;
It is advisable not to drive the vehicle or operate the machinery until you know how you react to this drug.
