Dosage and Missed Dose

Isotretinoin is a vitamin A derivative. It is used in the treatment of acne.
Take isotretinoin with glass full of water. It is better to take after food to avoid GI upset. Take isotretinoin the full length of time the doctor prescribed with out missing the dose for better results.
Always remember to inform your health expert if you are taking any prescription or OTC medication.
Inform your doctor or pharmacist of any other medical conditions, allergies.
Isotretinoin causes sever birth defects for unborn baby. Pregnant woman should not use isotretinoin. Woman who is using isotretinoin should use two forms of birth control methods and should have pregnancy tests.
For pregnancy risk it belongs to category X.
Dryness of the skin, scaling, erythema
Nausea and vomiting
Urinary discomfort and vision problems.
If any of these side effects become worse consult your physician.
0.5 to 1 mg per kg usually the duration treatment is 15 to 20 weeks. or
Use as directed by your physician, your physician prescribes depending on the severity of disease.
Use the complete course of medication as prescribed by your physician even though you feel better after one or two days of usage of medication.
Missed dose: If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not take two doses at same time to cover up the missed dose
This product should be stored at room temperature between (15-30 degrees C). Store it in a place where it won’t be exposed to excessive heat, moisture or direct sunlight never store in bathroom. Keep it out of reach of children. Make sure that any leftover portion is disposed of safely.
Avoiding using alcohol while taking this medication because it may increase the adverse effects.
Isotretinoin is used in children with caution as they are more sensitive to adverse effects.
