Uses: Line Flush 10 IU injection is used as anticoagulant. It is a blood thinner that prevents the formation of blood clots in veins and arteries. It is used to prevent the blood clot before and after surgery.
How to use: Line Flush 10 IU injection is given under the skin or into the vein by health professional as directed by your doctor. Do not use this injection if its color has changed or it has particles in it. This medication should not give to the muscle (IM).
Side Effects: Heparin side effects are Mild pain or redness or irritation at the site of injection. Some times the skin color may change to bluish.
Dosage: Heparin prophylaxis adult dose for deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism is 5000 units subcutaneously 2 hours before surgery follwed by 5,000 units subcutaneously every 12 hours.
