Uses: Bromogen 2.5 mg tablet is used to treat Parkinson's disease. Bromocriptine is also used to treat symptoms of hyperprolactinemia (eg, excessive or abnormal breast milk production, discharge from the nipples, certain menstrual problems (lack of menstrual periods), difficulty becoming pregnant), acromegaly, type 2 diabetes.

How to use: Take Bromogen 2.5 mg tablet orally with food usually once daily. Your doctor starts with low dose and gradually increase the dose. Do not stop the dose without consulting the doctor.

Dosage: Usual adult dose for hyperprolactinemia: Initial: 1.25 mg to 2.5 mg daily. Maintenance: 2.5 mg to 15 mg daily. Usual adult dose for Parkinson's disease: Initial: 1.25 mg twice daily. Increase the dosage every 2 to 4 weeks. Maximum daily dosage: 100 mg. Usual adult dose for type 2 diabetes: Initial: 0.8 mg daily. Maintenance: 1.6 to 4.8 mg daily. Maximum daily dosage: 4.8 mg.
