Uses of this medication: Fosinopril is used to treat high blood pressure. And in the management of heart failure.

How to use this medication:

Fosinopril should be taken as prescribed by doctor. It should be taken with glass full of water. It should be taken one hour before consuming food. The drug should not be taken in over dosage or in large amounts or longer then the prescribed duration.

It is taken orally by mouth. Drink plenty of water while taking this medication daily. Avoid taking antacid 2 hour before or after taking medicine.

Always remember to inform your health expert if you are taking any prescription or OTC medication.

Inform your doctor if you are having kidney or liver disease.

Inform your doctor or pharmacist of any other medical conditions, allergies.

For pregnancy risk it comes under category D. This drug may cause birth defects while taking this medication follow strict birth control techniques. It can pass breast milk and harm nursing baby, it is strictly prohibited in breast feeding mothers.

If any of the following side effects are found then get immediate medical help.

Dizziness, nausea, headache,fainting, hypotension, urinating more or less then the normal or not at all, swelling, pale skin, jaundice.

Missedd Dose:

Dosage: For high blood pressure Adult:  Initial dose is 10mg/day. After checking the blood pressure your doctor may increase the dose 20 to 40mg/day at once or into divided doses.

For the management of heart failure: Adult: Initial dose is 10mg once daily, increased to 40mg once daily

Use as directed by your physician, your physician prescribes depending on the severity of disease.

Use the complete course of medication as prescribed by your physician even though you feel better after one or two days of usage of medication.

Missed dose: If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not take two doses at same time to cover up the missed dose

Storage

This product should be stored at room temperature between (15-30 degrees C). Store it in a place where it won’t be exposed to excessive heat, moisture or direct sunlight never store in bathroom. Keep it out of reach of children. Make sure that any leftover portion is disposed of safely.

General information

Do not take additional salt substitutes or potassium while taking medicine unless prescribed by doctor.

If you are being treated for high blood pressure, keep using medicine even if you feel better after taking the medicine.
