Effective Ways to Lose Pregnancy Weight
Having a baby, changes your entire life. Your thinking, your lifestyle, your habits and almost everything you used to do, changes to comfort the newest and the most beautiful addition to your family. However, with all these pleasant changes, one of the least favorite parts of having a child, is gaining weight during pregnancy.
A research made by Kaiser Permanente, an integrated managed care organization, based in Oakland, proved that women who are obese tend to gain more weight during pregnancy. Also, first time mothers, deal with the propensity of gaining good amount of weight. If seen statistically, it has been estimated that the average weight gain during pregnancy is about 25 to 35 pounds. Out of which, 12.5 to 14 pounds gets reduced after delivering the child.
But interestingly, some new mothers may gain some extra 10-12 pounds during pregnancy, because of many medical reasons. In such cases, possibilities of gaining more postpartum weight occur. However, whatever be the reason, every women wants to get rid of those extra pounds for a better and healthy lifestyle.
Heavy intake of water: Instead of going for high sugar beverages, make water your most favorite drink. For taste, you can either add lemon or can go for flavored seltzer water which has no calories.
Eat whole grains: In case of bread, cereals and pastas make whole grain food items your favored choice.
Have healthy snacks: If you have a habit of having something at short intervals then keep healthy snacks at your home. Try to curb your hunger with items like raisins, popcorn, wheat crackers, and nuts rather than baked goods or junk food.
Eat lean meats: Include lean meat in your diet such as boneless chicken and the leanest cuts of beef.
Other exercising options: If you do not like to spend your time in gym then you can also try a few other entertaining ways to reduce pregnancy fat. Regular walks, swimming, water aerobics, dancing, yoga, pilates and etc are good forms of workouts.
Do not starve: Get a proper diet plan and do not try to starve or skip means as it may result in some very adverse affects on your body.
Breastfeeding: Do not say no to breastfeeding because it is healthy for your child as well as you. Breastfeeding helps in burning around 5000 calories per day.
Give time to your body: This is indeed, the most important point. Always remember that had taken 9 month to gain this weight and hence, at least equal amount of time should be given to lose it. Never try to over exert yourself and start exercising only after your doctor suggests.
Start with light exercises initially: Initially, you should go for very light exercises under the training and observation of your physical trainer. Do not try anything at home or any exercises that you used to do before pregnancy. Moreover, do not forget to consult your doctor regarding the physical exercises.
Split your workouts: Instead of hitting the gym for continuous 45 minutes and straining out your body immensely, try to have short workouts throughout the day. They are as effective as continuous working out session.
While working out to lose your pregnancy fat, always remember the fact that it took you 9 months to gain that weight and hence, equal amount time should be given to your body to lose it completely. Regular exercise, proper diet, good intake of water and strict suggestions from your doctor and physical trainer should be followed religiously.
