Q) My brother had a treatment for pleurisy. It is completely cured and he is normal now. I would like to know if this disease will re apprear and does it affect his married life.
A) First of all I would like to say that tuberculosis is a curable disease now. The only thing is we need to take treatment for longer duration. That he has taken already. Once the disease is cured then the person is normal again. It does not affect ones married life or family members.
Lungs are the most commonly affected organ as was the case. The disease during its initial stage and from a patient who spit tuberculosis causing organisms, may spread but after the treatment is started the spread stopped. What I want to say is tuberculosis is not a cause for worry, provided proper treatment is taken. The disease may re-occur in some cases, but that is possible as in normal person. It is also possible that the disease get reactivated in some cases, but that can again be treated.
Once tuberculosis is cured, as in this case, then the person can live normal life and work.
