How can teens abuse to alcohol and drugs be prevented?

Q) How can teens abuse to alcohol and drugs be prevented?

A) Efforts to prevent teen substance abuse should begin early in a child’s life with drug education, encouragement of healthy behaviors, and good family communication. Teens are more likely to use alcohol or drugs if their parent does; parental attitudes towards substance use also influence teen behavior. Having positive self-esteem, supportive family relationships, positive role models, learning communication and problem-solving skills help teens gain confidence to make good choices.
