Q) Iam 32 years old. I am engaged and getting married in two months. I just found that i have 5 medium size uterine fibroids. Should i get them removed or should i go ahead and get pregnant. I had a miscarriage last year.
A) Looking at your history and given condition I would like to know more about the miscarriage. How many months fetus it was, what the problem was, and did you take any medicine for the same.
Regarding fibroid I would say these are relatively common and may not always need surgical treatment. These also regress itself. I understand that you are going to get married soon. It would be advised that you consult a gynecologist at this moment and discuss about heavy period. This condition also may or may not require any treatment.
Regarding getting pregnant with fibroid in place or should you go ahead and get pregnant will be determined by the position of fibroid and it size and how it is progressing etc. It is possible to have even normal delivery with a fibroid of medium size. Since you have a fibroid we cannot conclude that it should be treated surgically.
