Uses of this medication:
Enalapril is ACE inhibitor used for the treatment of hypertension.
How to use this medication:
Enalapril is taken orally with glass full of water one hour before the food. It is advisable to drink plenty of water while taking this medication. If you are being treated for high blood pressure, keep using medicine even if you feel better until your doctor advised to stop this medication.

Inform your doctor or pharmacist of any other medical conditions, allergies.
Pregnancy risk category for enalapril is C and at 2nd and 3rd trimesters it is D.
If you are planning to become pregnant or breast-feeding pl. make sure you notify to your health expert.
Side effects and when to consult your health expert:
Initial hypotension is observed, it may be severe.
Dizziness, Headache.
Persistent dry cough and abnormal taste.
Renal impairment may occur.
Dosage and Missed Dose:
Dosage:
Enalapril is initially given 5mg at bed time to avoid hypo tension and then continued with 10 to 20 mg and increased up to 40mg in divided doses in severe hypertension. or
Use as directed by your physician, your physician prescribes depending on the severity of disease.
Use the complete course of medication as prescribed by your physician even though you feel better after one or two days of usage of medication.
Missed dose: If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not take two doses at same time to cover up the missed dose
Storage:
Enalapril should be stored at room temperature between (15-30 degrees C). Store it in a place where it won’t be exposed to excessive heat, moisture or direct sunlight never store in bathroom. Keep it out of reach of children. Make sure that any leftover portion is disposed of safely.
General information:
If you are using enalapril with the diuretic there is chance of having low blood pressure, in this case you need to have check blood pressure regularly.
When you are exposed to heat or doing physical exercise due to excess sweating you might have low blood pressure.
