Q) My mother is having the headache more frequently might be due to the stress may i know how this headache is assessed

A) Headaches are assessed by.

  • Gathering a detailed history about the patient.
  • Maintaining records of headaches, an account of sleep, diet, emotional episodes and other contributing factors, leading to headaches.
  • A neurological examination is done involving assessment of the cranial nerves, reflexes and brain function. Other tests include CT scan or MRI.
  • Blood tests including a complete blood count and chemistry profile.
