A) If obese should consider losing weight and attaining optimal BMI for the height.
- Physical activity or exercise must be performed for at least 30 minutes every day for at least 5 times in a week.
- Avoid using margarine, butter, mayonnaise and sour cream.
- Try vegetables raw, or steamed instead of fried or boiled.
- Avoid red meat. Have fish poached or steamed. Have the skin and visible fat removed from chicken before cooking.
- Choose skim milk or low-fat buttermilk.
- Meet your healthcare provider to check whether you need the administration of cholesterol lowering medications.
